Baby wearing mum with Baby Bjorn carrier in the Peak District

10 Reasons Why I Love Babywearing

June 26, 2019

This post originally appeared at Rebel Angel. Ad: Baby Bjorn provided me with this carrier for review. The term “baby wearing” sounds a bit hippyish, doesn’t it? Most people immediately imagine slings and wraps tied in fancy ways that look very comfortable but complicated. I have to admit, I did first plan to use one…

A Sustainable Newborn Wardrobe: Belles & Babes Review

April 17, 2019

This post originally appeared at Rebel Angel. [This subscription was gifted to me for review] When I found out I was pregnant, the first thing I wanted to do was buy all the cute baby clothes. Okay, I suppose at first, I was too busy thinking about the teeny tiny sesame seed inside me to…

Sleeping newborn baby photoshoot - choosing Emilia Jane's name

Choosing Emilia Jane’s Name

March 25, 2019

This post originally appeared at Rebel Angel. One thing you should know about me – I’m obsessed with names. Before being pregnant, I had a list of names I loved. Before we’d started thinking about having a baby one day, I had a spreadsheet of names. Who am I kidding, before I even met Ben,…

Introducing…Emilia Jane

March 7, 2019

This post originally appeared at Rebel Angel. On 1st March 2019 at 4.55am, this beautiful little lady, Emilia Jane, Emmy for short, made her grand entrance into the world at 7lb 3oz – and no one actually measured her, so we can’t tell you that! It’s been a week since the big day, so I’m…

Sewing a Scandi style baby nest

Sewing: Scandinavian Style Baby Nest

November 13, 2018

A couple of weeks ago marked a fairly momentous occasion for me: dusting off the sewing machine and getting to work with it again. Those of you who have been around here a while will know about my obsession with sewing that started back in 2014 when I picked up a sewing pattern and bought…

Slow Living: My plans to parent a baby sustainably

October 31, 2018

This post originally appeared at Rebel Angel. I had plans today to share a Halloween-themed outfit, but life disagreed with me getting proper outfit photos of my maternity Halloween outfit (rather than costume!) before today, and after this weekend would be too late, so you’ll only find it on Instagram. Instead I’m talking parenting, sustainability…

I accidentally fell into the world of Scandi kids I accidentally fell into the world of Scandi kids clothing a little while ago, and last week, I decided to grab some bits in my first DUNS drop - eek! @dunssweden has wonderful, uplifting and unique designs that are not only GOTS Certified but are also unisex and even have clothes that are now known as “Mama Duns” – matching pieces for mums (and sometimes dads!). Emmy and I managed to snag matching Purple Meadow Baggy Pants and we're in love! Head over to the blog (link in bio) to read more about my journey into Scandi clothing and how I grabbed this pair of baggy pants (yes, they might be a size 134/140!). #organic #fashrev #dunssweden #schwedischen #scandinavian #shopdunssweden #morethanafling @shopdunssweden #organickidswear #kidsfashion #sustainablefashion #sustainable #gots #byttilleko #inspiration #ecokids #goorganic #unisexfashion #swedish #summer2020 #colorful #happykids #organickidsfashion #emiliajane #emmyjane #themodernmotherhood
[Ad] Hey Instagram, it's been a while! We all know [Ad] Hey Instagram, it's been a while! We all know things have been going on in the world, but in addition to that, I went back to work and also have a baby turning toddler - that really pushes the limits of how much social media I can manage!

But today I'm back with a post all about baby led weaning. Over on the blog (link in bio) I've shared 50+ tried and tested baby led weaning meal ideas that Emmy loves (this girl LOVES her food!). We were super lucky to be gifted some @littlefreddieuk pouches to try recently, and this Grass Fed Beef Lasagne with a pinch of parmesan pouch has been a big winner over here. Available at Sainsburys, organic ingredients and a commitment to real food and sustainability, what else could you want from baby food? We were really impressed at how this little pouch packs a punch nutritionally and with flavour too - we may have snuck a couple of tastes too!

Check out how we incorporated this pouch into a meal for Emmy over at the blog along with a lot more meal ideas for 1 year olds, as well as a link to the Little Freddie coupon page where you can claim your own coupons.

Remember last year when I visited our local pumpki Remember last year when I visited our local pumpkin patch with a teeny bump? This year we went back with a much bigger "pumpkin" in tow! Emmy's first time pumpkin picking was a huge success and I can't wait to make this a tradition year after year. She looks like she's going to be a Halloweeny kind of girl!

Words can't even describe the experience of the pa Words can't even describe the experience of the past 2 days! Yesterday Emmy went to her first ever play, and I'm so so proud that it was the wonderful work of @charley_smiles90 with There Are No Beginnings at @leedsplayhouse.
Since it was a mother and baby performance yesterday, I actually went back again today with Ben this time (while Emmy chilled with Charley and Frankie) to experience it all over again and I can't even tell you how incredible it was, both times!
I'll have a full review on the blog soon but in short, this was the most powerful and passionate performance full of strong women. And even though I've seen it twice in two days, I wouldn't hesitate to see it again.

These gorgeously soft and cozy sheepskin baby booties are by my new client, @jacobsanddalton, who are soon to be launching their site where you'll be able to get your hands on these too, but head over to the blog to see our full review and some fabulously fall inspired photos amongst the autumn leaves!
